Sir Alex Ferguson got a win with his horse 'If I Had Him' in the Channel Islands Champion Hurdle in Jersey yesterday, as winning trainer George Baker claimed that it was the first Champion Hurdle for Sir Alex.
According to the Daily Star, Sir Alex was thrilled when told about the victory by the trainer, while he just returned from a holiday in the west coast of Scotland.
Fergie's horse 'If I Had Him' has now won three times in Jersey where nine meetings are held every summer at the Les Landes track on turf, run perilously close to the sea, the report said.
The report added that it was consolation for the Manchester United manager after his horse Telescope failed to land this year's Derby.
Although the nine-year old horse was not one of the best Ferguson boasts of, he was very happy to win the race, which had a purse of 3000 pounds.
