Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly made Liverpool's Luis Suarez as his top choice for transfer target.
Having firmly being rebuffed by Liverpool over the enquiry, Wenger is expected to go back with another approach this week, the Mirror reports.
Although there is growing belief in Arsenal about having the Anfield striker in the club, there is potential competition from Manchester City and Chelsea as Suarez's agent is aiming to set up potential deals to other Premier League clubs.
According to the report, Suarez is believed to prefer Real Madrid but Arsenal may be willing to top with 35million pounds while the Spanish giants have yet to make a firm approach.
The report said that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers had insisted publicly that Suarez is not for sale and Arsenal would surely have to meet the 40million pounds price, if they wanted to acquire him.
