Health guru Deepak Chopra's former pal and business partner, Jim Walsh, whom he has sued over a 5 million dollar donation, has a history of failed businesses and debts.
Walsh tried to set up a cocoa plantation in Hawaii in partnership with Hershey's decades ago, but the project flopped and Hershey's sued Walsh, the New York Post reports.
Chopra claimed in his lawsuit that Walsh was trying to take the millions away from the 66-year-old doctor for his own use, even though it is earmarked for Chopra.
Chopra also claimed that he gave 1,50,000 dollars to Walsh in recent months in part to set up "The Consciousness Project", aimed at studying consciousness and spirituality, but he did not set up the non-profit and simply papered over one of his own organizations.
Chopra said he gave Walsh the money before learning of his trail of unsuccessful, abandoned or failed companies and projects.
