Former Manchester United star Andrei Kanchelskis has claimed that Louis Van Gaal does not understand English football, but insisted that the Dutchman should be given time until at least the end of the season.
United, who are struggling under Van Gaal, have now lost three matches in a row and are currently nine points behind the leaders Leicester City in Premier League standings.
Reflecting on United's performance, the 46-year-old said that he was extremely disappointed with their performance and called on his former side to bring in some leadership qualities , the Mirror reported.
According to Kanchelskis, United used to play more attacking style of football under their former manager Alex Ferguson.
Earlier, Van Gaal's job had come under scrutiny following his side's 1-2 defeat at home against Norwich City in Premier League. He also appeared
to be cracking under the pressure when he walked out of his press conference on Wednesday after just five minutes.
With their first defeat at Old Trafford, United have also slipped out of the top four ahead of their next match against Stoke City on Saturday.
