Former Uttar Pradesh minister D P Yadav was sentenced to life imprisonment on Tuesday by a special CBI court here for his role in the murder of Mahendra Singh Bhati in 1992.
CBI Special Judge Amit Kumar Sirohi also sentenced three others to life imprisonment.
Bhati was the MLA from Ghaziabad's Dadri area. He was gunned down at the Dadri railway crossing in Uttar Pradesh.
The CBI took up the case in 1993, and submitted a charge sheet against eight persons.
Four of the eight persons have died during the trial.
