Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was taken aback at a public function here on Sunday when a woman, said to be his ardent admirer, kissed him on his cheek.
Even before the Congress leader could realise what had happened, the woman vanished from the stage.
Girija Srinivas, a Taluk Panchayat member from Chikmagalur district's Tarikere, planted a kiss on the Chief Minister's right cheek after being felicitated by him.
The incident took place during an event organised by Kuruba community to which Siddaramaiah belongs.
According to local media reports, the lady said Siddaramaiah is like her father and she was a big fan of the Chief Minister since her school days.
She said that when she met him today for the first time in her entire life, she could not control her excitement and kissed him.
