National Conference (NC) president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah will be attending the oath-taking ceremony of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, which is scheduled to be held in Patna on November 20.

"Nitish Kumar called up the president of National Conference personally in the morning and requested his participation in the oath taking ceremony," said a National Conference spokesperson.

He also said Dr. Abdullah had accepted Nitish's invitation.

Nitish was on Saturday elected as the legislature party Leader of the Mahagathbandhan, which comprises of the Janata Dal (United), the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress Party.

The newly-elected legislators of the JD-U had met at the residence of Nitish and had elected him as their leader.

Nitish had also submitted his resignation to Governor Ramnath Kovind after the cabinet decided to recommend the dissolution of the outgoing assembly.
