Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton on Sunday produced a superlative and faultless performance as he completed a hat-trick of home wins by defeating Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg to win the British Grand Prix.
The defending three-time champion led every lap of a race that started under the safety car in wet conditions but dried, to take his fourth career win at the Silverstone circuit.
With the win, Hamilton has cut Rosberg's championship lead to just four points, Sport24 reported.
Elated with his victory, Hamilton tweeted, "Thank you for an amazing job today, Team...& #TeamLH you are amazing! #BritishGP #Blessed #BestFans @mercedesamgf1."
Hamilton slashed down Rosberg's lead in the Formula One world championship from 24 to 11 points after winning the Austrian Grand Prix last week.
