The Department of Telecom has fixed February 25 as the next date for the spectrum auction of 2G and 3G networks.
The auction will be held for frequencies in four bands of 800 megahertz, 900 megahertz, 1800 megahertz and 2100 megahertz, said a department notification.
The department said the auction will be held online and the validity of the spectrum will be for 20 years.
The government is hoping to earn about 65000 crore rupees through this auction.
The Union Cabinet had approved the largest ever telecom spectrum auction on Monday. The last date for submission of applications is February 6.
