The grand jury's decision not to indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in Michael Brown shooting case was met with violence on the streets of the city.

Protesters set ablaze a whole row of businesses on West Florissant Avenue, a major street in Ferguson on Monday night. With so many fires in the city, it was difficult for the firefighters to reach all the sites.

There were also reports of rampant looting of businesses in the city.

CNN reported that according to documents released by St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch, officer Darren Wilson told a grand jury that Michael Brown punched him in the face when he drove back to him after identifying him as a possible suspect in a shop theft.

The cop claimed that as he tried to get out of his cruiser, Brown slammed the door shut twice and hit him with his fist, the report said.
