New Delhi, Feb. 17 (ANI): Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari on Wednesday unveiled the 488 GTB, four months after re-entering the Indian market with new dealers.
Priced at Rs. 3.88 Crores (Ex-Showroom Delhi), the car has already been sold out for this year and the company has started taking orders for 2017, revealed Yadur Kapur, the Director of Select Cars Pvt. Ltd., who owns the Ferrari dealership in Delhi.
This car replaces one of Ferrari's most-loved model, the 458. The roof of the 458 has been carried forward to the 488.
Ferrari is now not only looking at metro cities but also, tier-2 cities to sell its cars. The first customer for the new 488 is from Kolkata and has waited for nearly one and a half years for his car.
"We are delighted to launch the Ferrari 488 GTB in New Delhi. We have many loyal Ferrari owners and fans in Northern India and this new launch allows us to bring them a fantastic new model in our market," said Yadur. However, he refused to comment on how many units of the 488 are headed to India.
Even, Ferrari Middle East and Africa sales coordinator Aurelien Sauvard talked about how India is an important market but refused to divulge any information on the number of the 488's units headed towards India.
This car boasts of a 3.9 litre, turbocharged V8 engine which is a very rare thing for a Ferrari. The last Ferrari which came with a turbo-charged engine was the 308.
The new engine can produce 670 BHP and 760Nm of torque. Mated to a seven speed F1 dual-clutch gearbox, the GTB can do a 0 to 100 Kmph sprint in three seconds and can go on to a top speed of 330 Kmph.
