Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar on Wednesday concluded his four-day SAARC Yatra after meeting Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul on Wednesday.

Jaishankar discussed issues pertaining to development projects, connectivity and security between India and Afghanistan during his meeting with President Ghani.

Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin took to twitter after Jaishankar's successful tour.

"1st leg of SAARC Yatra ends. Following meeting with Prez @ashrafghani in Afghanistan, Foreign Secy heads home," he posted.

The Foreign Secretary began his SAARC yatra with Bhutan, later travelling to Bangladesh. On Tuesday, Jaishankar met his Pakistani counterpart Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry in Islamabad, the first meeting between the two Foreign Secretaries since New Delhi had called off talks in August 2014.

He will undertake visits to Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal later.

The Foreign Secretary's schedule was announced days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on February 13 that Jaishankar would be leaving on a SAARC Yatra.
