Former Pakistani Test cricketer Salahuddin Ahmed Sallu has backed young Pakistani players, saying that the new blood in the team have great potential to lift the squad following their upcoming series against Zimbabwe.
According to the Dawn, Sallu further lauded the young players, saying that he liked their 'never-say-die' approach, and added that they are not only batting brilliantly, but have also raised the fielding standards.
Former chief selector, however, said that his squad should not take Zimbabweans lightly, especially after they recently stunned the strong Kiwi side in a couple of matches.
Pakistan will tour to Zimbabwe in September, where the two sides will play two Twenty20 and three ODIs.
