Four hawkers killed in road accident in Patna

At least four hawkers were mowed to death and four others got injured after they were hit by a car in Patna.

The Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Patna, Amit Kumar, said that an Indica car hit the people near Mahavir Cancer Institute at Phulwarisharif area.

"Four people have died including a woman and three men. Others have been sent to the hospital for treatment as they are critical. The accident took place by an Indica car whose brakes had failed," said Kumar.

Reportedly, the car driver has been detained by the police.

Mohammad Alam, a hawker, said that the driver fled after the accident.

"I was talking to other people when an Indica came and ran over people, and the driver fled," said Alam.
