Soccer nation France believes the seeding system for the World Cup playoffs in November is unfair, as the seeds are likely to be determined by FIFA rankings with 25th-placed France facing a possible clash with another big team, and the side is likely to complain to the football body.

According to Sport24, French Federation president Noel Le Graet expressed that there was a little injustice between the group of five and the groups of six, adding that France's rivals from other groups had been able to score more points.

World and European champions Spain are three points ahead in Group I and host Georgia in their final qualifier on Tuesday when second-placed France, who look certain to go through to the playoffs, entertain Finland, the report said.

The French team believes that the system is flawed because fewer ranking points were available in five-nation Group I while the other sections all contained six teams, the report added.
