Germaine Greer slams Elton John for naming partner as son's 'mother' on birth certificate

Australian journalist Germaine Greer has criticised Elton John for naming his husband David Furnish as son's 'mother' on birth certificate.

Feminist author asserted that sometimes she thinks that really the problem is the concept of motherhood, which they can't give any real structure to, the Independent reported.

The 76-year-old theorist continued that John and his "wife" Furnish have entered on the birth certificate of their two sons that Furnish is the mother, however, this will give one an idea of how the concept of motherhood has "emptied out".

The couple have two children i.e. Zachary, four, and Elijah, two, who were born to the same surrogate mother using the same anonymous egg donor.
