In a latest development to the controversy revolving around World Cup bidding process, Germany's World Cup-winning captain and coach Franz Beckenbauer is being probed by the independent ethics investigator Michael Garcia over his part in picking Russia and Qatar as World Cup hosts.
The investigation is also being conducted on Harold Mayne-Nicholls, who led FIFA's pre-decision inspection of the bidding nation.
Three FIFA executives namely Spain's Angel Maria Villar Llona, Michel D'Hooghe from Belgium and Worawi Makudi from Thailand are also being inquired by the ethics chief Michael Garcia.
Hooghe said that he went to Zurich to give all the necessary clarifications to the allegations. He further said he is fully convinced that his answers have completely clarified the whole situation as he has nothing to hide, the BBC reported.
Earlier this month, FIFA published a 42 page summary report, which Garcia later terming it as erroneous and incomplete.
