In response to the Pakistan Government's refusal to clear its team's departure unless India provides written guarantees of security, the Shiv Sena on Friday said that giving a 'written assurance' to Pakistan will be an insult for the Government of India.
"If India will give a 'written assurance' of security for Pakistan's team to the Pakistan government, then it will be an insult to India because Pakistan itself has the worst law and order and internal security in the world," Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut told ANI here.
"These kind of people should not be allowed to keep their foot on Indian land. Our request is that Pakistan should not be called here. It is the issue of the country, not of any states. The Government of India should clearly say no to the Pakistan team," he added.
Pakistan Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had said yesterday that the team's departure will not be cleared till the Indian government provides a written assurance regarding safety.
This comes a day after Twenty20 World Cup cricket match clash between the two neighbours was shifted from Dharamsala to Kolkata, citing security concerns.
