Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday reiterated the government's commitment improving the financial situation of Andhra Pradesh.

"Whatever assistance could be given to the state of Andhra Pradesh we have tried to give towards the capital and towards the seven backward districts of the state," said Jaitley.

"The new government has taken over last year within financial constraints. Despite that, it had helped the state to overcome the immediate problems it had," he added.

Jaitley further said the government is committed to all the obligations in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
