Union Information Technology and Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Friday that the NDA Government will be investigating the publication of a map in the RSS mouthpiece, Organizer, that shows some parts of Jammu and Kashmir as being a part of Pakistan.
Addressing members of the Rajya Sabha, Prasad said Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and will remain so. He further stated that Parliament has adopted a resolution in this regard.
He said the map depicted in the magazine does not endorse the views of either the BJP, or the RSS.
The issue was raised in the Upper House by senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, who described Jammu and Kashmir as the nation's crown.
He said security forces and people have made sacrifices for the state.
Congress leaders Satyavrat Chaturvedi and Rajiv Shukla also asked what action the government would take in the matter.
