Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on Monday called on Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Ananth Kumar to discuss various projects relating to the fields of chemicals, fertilizers and pharmaceuticals in her state.
Both the leaders expressed happiness that the Gujarat is the only state which exceeded the targeted investments for the petroleum, chemicals and petrochemicals investment region (PCPIR) and decided that they will further take it forward through downstream industries in the plastics sector as well.
Ananth Kumar further stated that Gujarat had been a leading pharmaceutical producer and further steps are to be taken to expand the industry in this sector. He also expressed the opinion that it could also be explored for setting up of an exclusive Tech Park for medical devices.
The issue of setting up of fertilizer plants in Gujarat under new investment policy of the ministry also came for discussion.
