With the Congress Party winning 20 district panchayats out of the total 30, Congress general secretary Ahmed Patel on Wednesday said the result was an indication that the BJP Government was on its way out in Gujarat.
"Today's result is a stepping stone for the Congress' victory in the 2017 assembly polls in Gujarat. The anti-poor policies of the Gujarat Government have taken a toll on people" said Patel, while expressing his sincere gratitude to the people of Gujarat.
"The BJP Government has also paid a heavy price for their vindictive attitude and witch hunt towards the agitators," he added.
Buoyed by the victory, Patel also expressed his gratitude to Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president, leader (CLP) and other party leaders and workers for their untiring efforts and hard work.
