Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Independent Charge) Prakash Javadekar today met Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and reviewed the situation arising out of the flood-cum-landslide natural calamity in Jammu and Kashmir.
After the meeting, Singh said, "The situation is not good. Much houses and persons have died in flood."
Appreciating the help provided by the Central Government, Singh said, "This is the responsibility of the Central Government to take action against this issue. The Central Government's role in tackling Kashmir floods has remained positive."
Flash floods have thrown normal life out of gear in Jammu and Kashmir. People in the flood -affected areas of Poonch are being provided with healthcare and other relief materials by the Indian Air Force.
