J.K Rowling has confirmed that 'Harry Potter's magic school, Hogwarts, would have been home to all kinds of students.

The 49-year-old author was questioned by fan on social media if the school was safe for LGBT students, at which Rowling replied that students who were lesbian, gay, transgender as well as those from a variety of religious denominations were just as welcomed at Hogwarts as any other, the Mirror reported.

She then tweeted a picture which read "If Harry Potter taught us anything it's that no one should live in a closet."

Rowling added that the only students that she didn't imagine at Hogwarts were "Wiccans.
