In view of the Holi celebrations across the state, the police in Uttar Pradesh has issued an alert to deploy extra force in sensitive areas and localities having mixed population.
The state government has decided to deploy 55 companies of PAC, eight companies of RAF, 19,000 recruits undergoing training, 29,000 home guards and 4,000 sub-inspectors undergoing training.
The SPs have been told to identify extra-sensitive areas and deploy police personnel. The officers are also told to keep a watch on social media and organise regular foot patrolling. The Lucknow police will deploy force at various places to avert any trouble on Wednesday.
Policing today will mainly be done through mobile policing and quick reaction teams.
