Johnny Depp has claimed that he has been almost blind in one eye since birth.

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star confessed that he had no vision in his left eye and said that it was "blind as a bat", the Sun reported.

The 50-year-old actor, who is hardly ever seen without tinted glasses, also asserted that he is shortsighted in his right eye and has to depend majorly on his prescription spectacles.

He insisted that if he plays a character that does not wear glasses or shades, then he could only see a few inches from his face.

Depp added that everything is very blurry and he has never had proper vision.
