Shakira has thanked the previous World Cup for bringing her and her partner Gerard Pique together.
The 'Hips Don't Lie' singer said that she will never forget that she met her boyfriend, the 27-year-old footie-ace who plays for FC Barcelona, at the World Cup in 2010 while she was promoting her 2010 World Cup anthem, Waka Waka - Time for Africa, the Mirror reported.
Shakira, who will be performing La La La (Brazil 2014) with Brazilian musician Carlinhos Brown in Maracana Stadium for the closing ceremony, added that if it wasn't for the World Cup, her 18-month-old son Milan would not be here.
She was also spotted showing her football skills alongside Carlos Santana and Wyclef jean ahead of the final match between Germany and Argentina.
