The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined Rilee Rossouw's 50 percent of match fee for breaching its code of conduct during the second one-day international (ODI) against Bangladesh in Mirpur on Sunday.
The 25-year old was found guilty of breaching Article 2.2.7 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, after he made inappropriate and deliberate physical contact with his shoulder against Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal during the second innings, Sport24 reported.
The charge against Rossouw had been laid by the on-field umpires Enamul Haque and Richard Illingworth, as well as third umpire Michael Gough and fourth umpire Anisur Rahman.
Rossouw, however, was found guilty to the charge laid by David Boon of the Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees and the subsequent penalty was accepted without the need for a formal hearing.
South Africa went on to lose the match and with that the three-match series has been leveled 1-1 with the decider to be played on Wednesday.
