Calling Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif "Pakistan's Hosni Mubarak", Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan remains adamant that a dialogue with the government is only possible after Sharif resigns from his post.
According to news agencies in Pakistan, Khan has alleged that Sharif is responsible for the killing of 14 people in Lahore's Model Town in June. Khan is also quoted as saying that those involved in last year's poll rigging should be prosecuted under Article 6 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
Earlier today, Pakistan Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif met, with the meeting laying emphasis on ending the political crisis in Islamabad due to the protests by the PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in Islamabad.
The political turmoil has also resulted in Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa cancelling his upcoming visit to Pakistan.
