Former cricketer Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has alleged that the CIA's most senior officer in Islamabad was responsible for November 21 drone strike, which killed senior commanders of the Haqqani Network.

The CIA director John Brennan was nominated as an accused person for murder and waging war against Pakistan in a letter written by the party to the police, the Guardian reports.

Earlier in 2010, another CIA station chief, Jonathan Banks, was forced to leave the country after he was named in criminal proceedings over a drone strike.

The letter, meanwhile, demanded that Brennan should be prevented from leaving the country, so that he could be arrested.

The PTI also said that Brennan might reveal the names of the remote pilots, who operated the drone, during interrogation.

The 21 November drone strike on a religious seminary in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area was even more provocative, as it was one of the first ever strikes outside the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).
