In a bid to accelerate the Clean India movement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday invited nine more nominees to take part in the 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan'.
Comedian Kapil Sharma, activist Kiran Bedi and former cricketer Sourav Ganguly were among those nominated by the Prime Minister.
He also appealed to the 'Dabbe walas' in Mumbai and the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to take part in the mission.
"I am going to nominate few more people for cleanliness drive this time, including some individuals and organizations. I nominate Kiran Bedi, Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Sharma, Sonal Mansingh, Aroon Purie, Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, 'Mumbai ke dabbe wale and Padmanabha Acharya, Nagaland Governor P B Acharya along with Ramoji Rao and Eanadu Group" said Prime Minister Modi.
The Prime Minister is visiting his Parliamentary constituency Varanasi today to observe 'Good Governance Day' on the birthday of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
As part of the visit, he also paid floral tributes to Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya at the Banaras Hindu University.
