The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Bangladesh for co-operation in the field of traditional systems of medicine and homoeopathy.
The signing of this MoU will enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in these fields, as well as providing a structural framework for the same.
In addition, the financial resources necessary to conduct research, training courses, conferences and meetings will be met from the existing allocated budget of the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH).
The Department of AYUSH aims to propagate the Indian systems of medicine globally.
