India on Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Sardar Daud Khan Hospital in Kabul that took place today, and condoled the loss of innocent lives, including of those receiving medical care there.

"The heinous attack on a hospital is the most deplorable expression of the diabolical designs of terrorists and those who continue to provide safe havens and sanctuaries to terrorists," an official release from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

India assured Afghanistan of continuous support in fighting all forms of terrorism and bringing perpetrators of terrorist violence to justice.

At least 30 people were killed and 50 others injured when the attackers, dressed in medical uniforms, stormed a military hospital in the heart of Kabul on Wednesday.

At least five suicide bombers reportedly attacked the Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan Hospital, also known as army hospital, in Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan area on the outskirts of Kabul.

Earlier, an explosion was reportedly heard near the same military hospital. No terror group, including Taliban, has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack.
