India's first of its kind air-conditioned inter-state bus terminus at Mohali commences operations

The 300 crore plus Mohali Junction, the first of its kind in India, air-conditioned Bus Stand-cum-Commercial Complex at SAS Nagar (Mohali) commenced operations today after the inauguration by Punjab's Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Named after legendary Sikh General Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, the state-of-the-art AC Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) will facilitate more than 1,900 buses daily. It also has the facility of night halt for nearly 95 buses.

The 6.6 acre terminus on National Highway-21 will improve connectivity of the tricity to Northern Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Mohali has reached on numero uno spot owing to a wave of infrastructural development in last few years. After International airport, opening of state-of-the-art ISBT will act as a catalyst for further development on the index of progress and prosperity.

The ultra modern bus stand is equipped with all the modern amenities and gadgets to ensure passenger safety and comfort. The facilities are comparable to those available at international airports.

The one of its kind complex will have a 20 storey office- cum commercial tower with a helipad on the rooftop and nine screen multiplex. Baba Banda Singh Bahadur ISBT will have world-class facilities like Free Wi-Fi, online ticketing, air-conditioned waiting areas, ATMs, cyber cafes, medical aid and pharmacy, eateries, parking spaces, pre-paid taxis, autos, tourist information booths and public information display system.

Adhering to international norms, this facility has been built keeping in mind, convenience for the differently-abled people. The ISBT at Mohali will give accessibility, efficiency, and convenience to the travelers. At the same time, moving beyond transport facilities, there will be ample leisure facilities for the travelers.
