Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) acting president CK Khanna on Tuesday said that the board does not foresee any problem in the scheduled Tri-Nation Nidahas Twenty20 Cup due to the state of emergency in Sri Lanka.

Khanna told ANI, "I am in touch with my BCCI office and they are in touch with the Sri Lankan cricket board. The board is getting full cooperation from the Sri Lankan government as this is an important series for them too, it is an independence cup."

"We do not foresee any problem and we are confident that matches will be on," he added.

The first match of the Tri-Nation Nidahas Twenty20 Cup, is scheduled between India and Sri Lanka at Colombo's Premadasa Stadium at 7 pm on Tuesday.

The Sri Lankan government on Tuesday decided to impose a state of emergency for 10 days to control law and order, following the violence against the minority community in Kandy district over the last two days.

The decision comes, after a curfew was reimposed on Monday in two police divisions of Kandy district till Wednesday morning following the tense situation.

The Nidahas Trophy as per schedule is supposed to begin from Tuesday and will conclude on March 18. Besides Indian team, Bangladesh is the other team involved in the series.
