The controversial Nazi-themed cafe in Indonesia will reportedly reopen with a broader World War II theme, however, sans the swastika symbols.

The SoldatenKaffee (The Soldiers' Cafe) ornamented with Nazi-related memorabilia was voluntarily shut down on Friday following death threats to the owner Henry Mulyana, who is accused of inciting racial hatred, The Courier Mail reports.

The report said that Mulyana met with city tourism officials who suggested him to change the theme and name of the cafe and now the cafe will include not just pictures of Hitler but of Winston Churchill, Indonesian heroes, Japanese soldiers but no swastikas.

Mulyana's lawyer lawyer Rohman Hidayat said that the city authorities said that the swastika was striking, easily recognisable and visible and so the owner has decided to take them down.

Meanwhile, Mulyana said that he had received countless death threats from locals and foreigners and maintained that he never wanted to evoke memories of the Holocaust and that the images and paraphernalia were just decorative, the report added.
