Senior Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Abhay Singh Chautala on Sunday stated that he respected the people's mandate in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana and added that his party will introspect the reasons for dismal show in the assembly polls.
"We were expecting more, but we respect the public's mandate. We congratulate the new government to be formed. We will have to introspect where was the lapse, we will call upon a meeting with all our candidates those who fought in this election and with the office bearers and talk to them," Chautala told ANI here.
"We congratulate them (BJP) on their win and as they have got the mandate. We hope that they will work towards the state's development. But if they take any decision which will not be in favour of the state then we would strongly oppose that," he added.
In Haryana, the BJP has bagged 38 seats till now and is leading in 11 others while the Congress has won in eleven seats and is presently leading in four other seats.
Om Prakash Chautala-led INLD has won in 17 seats while it is leading in two seats while the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) has bagged two seats.
