Iran's foreign minister has said that the final round of talks between him and the permanent members of UN Security Council could lead to a nuclear deal provided the world powers refrained from making 'excessive demands'.

News 24 reported Mohammad Javad Zarif as saying that "if because of excessive demands by the other side, a result is not seen, then the world will understand that the Islamic Republic sought a solution, a compromise and a constructive agreement and that it will not renounce its rights and the greatness of the nation".

The talks between Iran and the world leaders, including Germany, have been taking place for months now with no real results.

The negotiations are an attempt by the world powers to ease fears that Tehran is secretly working on developing nuclear weapons under the pretense of civilian activities.
