IRCTC wins Website of the Year India award for second time

The tourism portal of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has won for a second time in a row the Most Popular Website of the Year India 2015 Award in the leisure and travel category, topping the number of online votes in an independent online election organized by MetrixLab, a global provider of consumer insights and marketing analytics.

The public votes were polled between October 19 and November 27 in a stiff competition spread across 21 categories, the results of which were announced this week.

"Our winning the honour a second time shows the amount of confidence people have in irctctourism.com," said IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director Dr. A.K. Manocha.

He added, "This is yet another proof to our increasing popularity and improved efficiency for a range of tourism and hospitality services."

The contest, which was between 252 websites this time, has been organised for a decade in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Brazil and China.

The irctctourism.com site, which provides tourist trains, tour packages, flights, accommodation, car and bus besides e-wheelchair, has been customer-friendly through constant innovation and technological application.
