Not only Christopher Nolan's next project is eagerly awaited, it has been kept under wraps so far. However, it seems that few clues about his upcoming project have been dished out.

France's La Voix Du Nord has claimed that the 45-year-old director is working on a World War II drama in the country and The Playlist saying that he and his screenwriter brother Jonathan are already scouting locations in Dunkirk, reports the Independent.

This marries up with Dunkirk mayor Patrice Vergriete's recent announcement, "filming of an American blockbuster would take place in June 2016 by a world-famous director."

It is thought that the film will be based on the Miracle of Dunkirk, a British military operation that saved more than 330,000 Allied troops who were surrounded by the German army in the harbour and on the beaches.

Back in September, it was announced that Nolan will release his next film again through Warner Bros with a 21 July, 2017 release date.
