Campaigning for her mother, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday asked whether it is right to give all the power of the country in the hands of one person, and added that the ongoing Lok Sabha elections is about unity and strengthening the identity of India.

"Their (BJP) campaign is centered around one man and giving all power to him. If all power is vested in one person, then, is it right or wrong? The power should rest with the public," said Priyanka while indirectly referring to the BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

"These elections are about unity and strengthening the identity of India," she added.

She also said that these days campaigns are being centered on delivering hate speeches, making personal attacks and false allegation.

"This is not the real politics. It is all being done to mislead to you. The debate should be on issues affecting the people. This is what real politics should be about," she said.

"You have to decide if you want to vote for a party that divides people or for one that takes everyone along," she added

She also said that a lot has been done for women in the Rae Bareli constituency.

"Women have their own identity. They are not just daughters, sisters, wives and mothers. They are individuals," she added.
