Islamic State (IS) militants have recruited at least 400 child soldiers in the past three months and given them military training and hardline indoctrination in Syria, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
According to the Express Tribune, the monitoring group said that the children are all under 18 years of age and they were recruited near schools, mosques and in public areas where IS conducts brutal killings and punishments.
One of the children appeared in a video in the beginning of this month where he was shown shooting an Israeli Arab dead because he was accused of being a spy.
Head of the British-based Observatory Rami Abdulrahman said that IS militants use children because it is easier to brainwash them and turn them into whatever they want.
