Jacintha Saldanha, the London nurse who took her own life after being made a victim of a prank by Australian radio DJs, may have kept secret more phone calls from the radio network.

It has been reported that a confirmation has been made by the Australian radio network about follow up calls being made by the 2DayFM.

The station said that the calls were made to ask permission for airing the call.

According to a London Sunday Times investigation, Southern Cross Austereo is going to present phone record evidence of four more calls being made to the hospital, which previously denied that it was contacted for permission to air a controversial stunt, where Mel Greig and Michael Christian were given details about the condition of a newly pregnant Kate after pretending to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.

A 2DayFM spokesman said that they can confirm that four follow up calls were made to ask for permission to air the call within an hour of the (prank) being made, News.com.au reported.

He said that Telstra had verified the calls coming from their Sydney studio and all being received at the same number in London.

One of the calls was ended abruptly, but others were long enough to have been a conversation.

The other calls were not recorded but phone log confirmed the destination number and the duration of the calls.

It was also reported that it is likely that the calls were answered by Saldanha herself and that she never disclosed them to another person.
