Japan's Sagawa sets up base in Phnom Penh to access ASEAN market

Sagawa Express Vietnam Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan's Sagawa Holdings Global has announced to set up base in Phnom Penh, Cambodia to expand its network base to ASEAN member states.

Pioneer in Cargo services, Sagawa is expecting expansion of transportation services on southern Economic Corridor and find Cambodia as corridor to access into Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.

Since over 130 Japanese companies are setting up base in the region, Sagawa find it suitable to expand its base. The company has already started truck and marine transportation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Sagawa has obtained local license of transportation to provide one stop service and meticulous service to customers.

Optimistic about economic growth in the ASEAM member states, the company is expecting a growth in cargo services, especially transportation business. It would expand infrastructure for truck transportation in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

"Already Sagawa targets transportation from industrial park which is located within 100 kilometer sphare surrounding Bangkok. In Malaysia and Philippines we are not only targeting the Japanese but others local companies too. Adding Cambodia, this large scale business will be supported by local employment and friendship between local people", explained Tsujimoto, a senior manager of Sagawa Holdings on the company's ASEAN strategy.
