Country star Jason Aldean, who was performing on stage when a gunman opened fire on concert-goers in Las Vegas on Sunday evening, expressed grief for those who lost their lives in the dastardly attack.
According to reports, more than 50 people were killed and in excess of 400 people injured in the incident, which took place on Sunday evening.
Aldean and his crew were reportedly forced to flee the stage after bullets rang across the open-air stadium at the Las Vegas concert.
The 40-year-old singer took to his Instagram account and posted a picture with 'Pray for Las Vegas' written on it.
The post read, "Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still don't know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that me and my crew are safe. My Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night. #heartbroken #stopthehate."
Aldean's wife, Brittany also posted a message on Instagram early Monday saying, "We are safe. our angels were definitely watching over us tonight. No words for what happened. Just horrific. Praying for everyone."
It is reported that a 64-year-old gunman opened fire from his hotel room on a nearby country music festival.
The gunman, identified as Stephen Paddock, unleashed a hailstorm of bullets from the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay hotel, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said.
