FIFA Secretary-General Jerome Valcke has said that the world football governing body has 'been through hell' over the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
One of the main concerns over the tournament has been the consistent delays to the completion of stadiums with FIFA being forced to extend the December deadline as several of the stadiums simply had not been completed.
According to Sport24, Valcke said that due to the fact that several Brazilian politicians are against the World Cup, FIFA has 'been through hell' mainly as in Brazil, there was a change among the political levels due to an election and it was difficult for them to keep repeating the same message.
Valcke also said that they are supporting Brazil to ensure that the World Cup is a success as the entire FIFA is based around the success of the World Cup, adding that they will receive the stadiums in on May 15, less than a month before the World Cup kicks off.
Valcke, however, warned 2018 World Cup hosts Russia that such leniency would not be repeated.
