Security forces apprehended two Maoists from the Khunti district of Jharkhand on Sunday, recovering large quantities of arms and ammunition from the extremists.
"We received information in the morning that some Maoists forces had been seen in the district. With that information, we raided the area and managed to nab these two rebels. Both of them are active members of the Maoist forces and have five cases registered against them. They were also involved in extortion and used to threaten and kill police informants in the area," Khunti Superintendent of Police Aneesh Gupta told the media.
"We have recovered one long barred gun, four cartridges, a mobile phone and certain receipts from the accused," he added.
