United States Senator John McCain has urged that the international ground forces should be deployed in Iraq and Syria to combat Islamic State militants.
McCain said, as he toured the Middle East with a Senate delegation, that months of bombing in Syrian town of Kobane has not yet driven out IS militants, reported News24.
He urged that "we need more boots on ground" as IS jihadists have increased their size and areas of control.
McCain said that there will be an aircraft exclusionary zone that will not only assist the rebels but also the refugees in the area.
McCain on his trip to the Middle East including Israel, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, was heading a delegation of US senators.
