Union Minister and BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday said that the proposed "Jugaadu" Samajwadi Party- Congress alliance would not be successful as people are demanding good governance and development.

"We believe that people have voted for development and good governance, not only in UP, but people in other states as voted for the same and those who are scrambling to form alliance, I would like to state one thing clearly, that a majority rather than a jugaadu government, will be formed in Uttar Pradesh. Those people's aspirations would remain a dream," Naqvi told ANI.

In a major revelation, incumbent Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, yesterday, hinted at forming an alliance with the BSP, reportedly, in a bid to keep the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) feom remote controlling the state from the Centre.

"We are sure that the SP- Congress will win the maximum seats in the assembly. But, we don't know about the circumstances after results. So, let's see, if it's required to form a government... Nobody would want President's rule in the state and that the BJP runs it through a remote control. Nobody would want that," Akhilesh told a television channel when asked about the possibility of the alliance.

However, Mayawati led- BSP has said it would wait for the results and then take a call on it.

"Will wait and watch for results, as of now not thinking of alliance with anyone," said BSP sources.
