Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader K Kavitha met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday and demanded that the division of all state employees in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh take place in the earliest.

"The people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh want the division of the employees to happen as soon as possible. It has been four months since the state of Telangana was formed and the division of government servants, from IAS level officers to zonal and district collectors, has not happened," Kavitha told the media.

"In lieu of the division of the cadres not happening, there is not much activity happening in the departments of the state and Central governments and many schemes that have been proposed by the Central government and the state governments have still not been implemented thoroughly because of lack of employees and officers," she added.

Kavitha also said that the division of the employees should take place in a thorough but fair manner and that it is a matter of great urgency.

"This division has to happen as soon as possible and once that division has taken place, the states will be able to do their work well. Thus I met the Home Minister and requested that he does the division as soon as possible and Andhra employees should go to Andhra and Telangana employees should go to Telangana so that both sets of workers can work without grievances," Kavitha said. "

Ultimately, when the states prosper, only then can the Centre prosper," she added.

Telangana came into existence in June this year after the area corresponding to much of the former princely state of Hyderabad separated from Andhra Pradesh.
